The School uniform for grades K-5

Jackets/Sweater: Dark Green
Polo/Button Shirt/Blouse: Light Yellow, White, Dark Green
Pants/ Walking Shorts/ Skirts/ Jumpers: Green Khabi Beige Khaki

The School uniform for those in 6th grade

Jackets/Sweater: Navy Blue
Polo/Button Shirt/Blouse: Light Blue, White, Dark Blue
Pants/ Walking Shorts/ Skirts/ Jumpers: Dark Blue khaki/Beige Khaki

A school uniform policy defines what clothes must be worn to school. Dress codes limit clothing options while school uniforms defines clothing options. School claim that when students come in uniform, it improves discipline and leads to academic gains.

A uniform teaches students to dress smartly and take pride in their appearance. Perhaps most importantly, a uniform means students don't have to worry about peer pressure when it comes to their children. When everyone is dressed the same, worrying about what you look like isn't so important.

The goal is to promote a Uniform Policy is

COMFORT, MODESTY, AND SAFETY.

A sense of working together towards mutual school-wide goals.
A "dress for success" attitude.
A sense of UNITY among the students.
A teamwork ethic.
Incentives for wearing uniforms.

We except all students arriving at Avalon Gardens STEAM Academy to come ready to work hard dressed in school uniform and with school supplies.

Students who do not adhere to the school dress code will receive a phone call home and a change of clothing may needed to be brought to school. Students wearing inappropriate or unsafe shoes may not be permitted to play on the yard and/or participate in physical education activities. Your child may be asked to sit on the bench or in the office for safety reasons.

Children should be dressed neatly and cleanly at all times.

Footwear should enclose the entire foot, both front, and back, and allows for active participation in physical educations. No sandals, open-toed or backless shoes may be worn at any time.
No large or dangling earrings should be worn as they can catch in hair and clothing
No jackets or clothing that symbolizes affiliation with gangs, alcohol, or drug use, or that display sexually implicit pictures or sayings are permitted.
No low rise pants should be worn.
No short shorts or very tight clothing are to be worn at school. Shorts that fall midway between the knees and hip or longer are fine.
No low cut, midriff, off the shoulder, or spaghetti strap attire is permitted.
Tank tops with low cut armholes or necklines are not appropriate
No baggy or oversized pants or tops should be worn.
Pants must be belted and/or fit without sagging them
No sports jerseys or sports uniforms may be worn. (ie... basketball top and shorts) unless specified for Spirit Day.
Make-up, lip gloss (Chapstick only), and artificial nails are not appropriate
Hats are not allowed in classrooms.
Doo rags, scarves that hang from the pocket or around the neck are not permitted.
No backpacks with wheels are allowed at school.
Sweatpants are not permitted. (in primary grades accommodations will be made)
No jeans with holes
